• How does gifting work?

  After completing your purchase, you'll receive a shareable gift link via email. Share that link with whomever you want to receive the gift!

• Is an account needed to receive a Gift Token?

  Yes — the person receiving the gift will need a Bunpro account to redeem it.

• Do Subscription Tokens expire?

  No! You're free to Gift or Donate them whenever you feel the time is right.

• Can I gift myself a token?

  Gift Tokens are only redeemable by other users however, tokens you earn through the referral program are able to be redeemed.

• Who is eligible to receive a Subscription Token?

  Our mission is to make learning Japanese accessible to anyone regardless of circumstance or socioeconomic situation. If learning Japanese through Bunpro can have a meaningful impact on your life, but you are unable to afford the membership fee, you are eligible to apply.

• How do I apply?

  You can use the "Apply" in the Community Pool section. Please provide a little information about your situation or circumstances. To make sure community support reaches learners who need it most, requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

• Can I apply more than once?

  Depending on availability and circumstances, eligible users who received a six month token can apply for a second one starting two weeks before their subscription would end.

• How long is a Community Pool subscription?

  Every approved Community Pool applicant will receive a 6-month subscription.

• Why are donations converted to a number of months?

  To keep things simple and straightforward, donations are converted to a number of months based on token type. This means a yearly token can support two users, each getting six months rather than one user getting 12 and another getting none.
