Cut the hair drastically.

伸(の)びすぎた枝(えだ)を庭師(にわし)に剪（*）んでもらいました。

Had the overgrown branches clipped by the gardener.

剪（*）んでもらったばかりなのに、もう枝(えだ)が伸(の)びてきた。

Even though I just had them clipped, the branches have already started to grow again.

高(たか)いところにある枝(えだ)を剪（*）むならちゃんと脚立(きゃたつ)を使(つか)わないと！

If you're going to clip branches that are high up, make sure to use a stepladder!
