神明(しんめい)deity, god, Amaterasu (as an enshrined deity)

神様(かみさま)のことを神明(しんめい)とも言(い)います。

God is also referred to as a deity.

神明(しんめい)は天照大神(あまてらすおおみかみ)のことを表(あらわ)すそうです。
