この二(ふた)つの文(ぶん)の間(あいだ)に一見(いっけん)脈絡(みゃくらく)のない文(ぶん)を挟(はさ)むとは…筆者(ひっしゃ)の考(かんが)えは何(なん)だろう？

Why would the author insert a sentence that, at first glance, seems to lack coherence between these two? I wonder what they were thinking.
