僕(ぼく)は字(じ)を書(か)くのが下手(へた)だ。だけれども書道(しょどう)が好(す)きだ。

I am bad at writing characters, though I like calligraphy.

人事(じんじ)部(ぶ)：「彼(かれ)は仕事(しごと)がよく出来(でき)る。だけれども態度(たいど)が悪(わる)い…。」

Human Resources: "He can do his job well. Though, his attitude is bad..."

娘(むすめ)が母(はは)に：「これが欲(ほ)しいんだけれども、誕生(たんじょう)日(び)に買(か)ってくれる？」

A daughter said to her mother: 'I really want this, but..., could you buy it for me for my birthday?' (Asking unassumingly)

社長(しゃちょう)：「お金(かね)はたんまりあるんだけれども、なにせ遊(あそ)ぶ時間(じかん)が無(な)いのです。」

President: 'Though I have plenty of money, I unfortunately have no time to enjoy it.'

母(はは)は私(わたし)に出来(でき)ない事(こと)はないと言(い)うのだけれども、私(わたし)はそうは思(おも)えないのです。

Though my mother says there's nothing I can't do, I just can't see it that way.
