予習(よしゅう)preparation for a lesson

授業(じゅぎょう)を理解(りかい)するには予習(よしゅう)する必要(ひつよう)があります。

To understand the class, you need to prepare for it.

先生(せんせい)：「明日(あした)の授業(じゅぎょう)のために予習(よしゅう)をしてきなさい！」

ほとんどの生徒(せいと)が予習(よしゅう)をしてこなかったので授業(じゅぎょう)があまり進(すす)まなかった。
