父(ちち)を訪(たず)ねたら、玄関(げんかん)に先客(せんきゃく)がいた。

When I visited my father, someone had arrived before me and was already at the entrance.

先客(せんきゃく)の後(あと)に新(あたら)しいお客(きゃく)さんと話(はなし)をしました。

I spoke with a new customer after the earlier visitor.

二人(ふたり)の先客(せんきゃく)があったので、訪問(ほうもん)先(さき)を一度(いちど)離(はな)れてカフェに行(い)きました。

Since there were two visitors ahead of me, I left the place I was visiting and went to a café for a while.

先客(せんきゃく)の話(はなし)が済(す)むのを待(ま)っていたらいつの間(ま)にかあれから一(いち)時間(じかん)も経(た)っていた。

While I was waiting for the previous visitor's conversation to end, an hour had passed before I realized it.
