招(まね)きinvitation

烏帽子(えぼし)の正面(しょうめん)の部分(ぶぶん)を招(まね)きと言(い)います。

The front part of an eboshi hat is called the invitation (crest or flap).

No matter the reason, turning down an invitation from someone above you is downright rude.
