発話(はつわ)utterance, speech

話(はな)す行為(こうい)とその音声(おんせい)が発話(はつわ)である。

The act of speaking and its sound is utterance.

発話(はつわ)をすると、脳(のう)の複数(ふくすう)の部分(ぶぶん)が活性化(かっせいか)します。

When you produce utterance, multiple parts of the brain are activated.
