良(よ)かれall for the best, what is right

良(よ)かれと思(おも)い父(ちち)に白髪(しらが)がある事(こと)を教(おし)えました。

I told my father about his gray hair, thinking it would be for the best.

良(よ)かれと思(おも)って忠告(ちゅうこく)したが、お節介(せっかい)だったようだ。

I advised him thinking it was right, but it seems that I was meddling.

私(わたし)が良(よ)かれと思(おも)ってした事(こと)が役(やく)に立(た)って良(よ)かったです。

Just because you're saying something thinking it is what's right, doesn't mean you can say whatever you want.
