金臭(かなくさ)いmetallic tasting

水(みず)が金臭(かなくさ)いので飲(の)むのをやめました。

I stopped drinking the water because it was metallic tasting.

This water has a metallic taste... it seems like iron is dissolving into it.

This liquid has a metallic taste; I wonder if there is some metal dissolved in it?

液体(えきたい)に金属(きんぞく)を溶(と)かしたのなら、それから金臭(かなくさ)い臭(にお)いがするのも当然(とうぜん)だ。

If you dissolved metal in the liquid, then it's only natural that it would have a metallic smell.
