Tentang いたす
いたす, or 致す as it is often written, is a humble speech う-Verb, which refers to the actions of the speaker (or people within the speakers inner circle, like their company). Similarly to お〜する, いたす means 'to do'.
In the case of する verbs themselves, simply replace する with いたす. For other verbs, add いたす to the ます stem of the verb, while attaching お, or ご to the beginning (depending on whether it is a word of Japanese or Chinese origin).
Caution
Words that include the kanji 拝 'to worship', or 'to revere', do not usually require お, ご, or いたす. This is due to the word itself being 'respectful'.
Fun Fact
いたす is considered to be slightly more humble than お〜する, which means that it will be heard more frequently in advertisements, or being used by company employees.

I think its there to make users remember not to use itasu in sentences with the kanji 拝 which is an honorific kanji that always takes suru

I think this item could do with an overhaul. I found it really confusing. First, in the structure area you find (emphases mine):
ご + [する] Verb + いたす
I take that to mean you should use ご with する-verbs. But in the description it says:
“In the case of する verbs themselves, simply replace する with いたす. For other verbs, add いたす to the ます stem of the verb, while attaching お, or ご to the beginning.”
I take that to mean you don’t need to add the ご. And finally you have both in the examples:

I think てもよろしい needs to at least be brought up in a separate grammar point (specifically in relation to kenjougo) before it’s tested in a separate one as a counter-example. I blanked on it even being familiar with the structure. No idea how there’s been zero movement on this in 6 years. It’s a good representation of the type sentence that’s useful as an example but doesn’t belong in the review queue.
