「又〜も」の情報

又(また)～も is a combination of the adverb 又(また), a noun, and the adverbial particle も. It can be translated as 'moreover', 'additionally', or 'furthermore'. As も is being used, whatever is being said in (B) will usually be new information.
To use 又(また)～も, an (A) phrase will be stated, before 又(また) will open the (B) phrase, and then be followed by a noun + も.
  • このキーボードはピアノの音(おと)が出(だ)せる。また、ギターの音(おと)も出(だ)せる。
    This keyboard can make piano sounds. Additionally, it can produce guitar sounds.
  • この電子(でんし)レンジはオーブンとして使(つか)えて、またトースターとしても使(つか)える。
    This microwave can be used as an oven, additionally, it can be used as a toaster.
Instead of も, でも or ても may be used for extra emphasis.
  • ササキ先生(せんせい)は理科(りか)の先生(せんせい)です。また、地理(ちり)の先生(せんせい)でもある。
    Sasaki-sensei is a science teacher. She is also a geography teacher.
  • 私達(わたしたち)は何(なん)でも買(か)います。また、古(ふる)くても買(か)い取(と)ります。
    We will buy anything. Moreover, we will buy it even if it's old.
Fun Fact
The kanji 又(また) and 叉(また) share an interesting relationship. 又(また) is used to refer to things that reach a point of separation, but then fold back on themselves (being translated as 'again', or 'in addition'). On the other hand, 叉(また) refers to things that reach a point of separation, and then split (being translated as 'a fork in the road', or 'crotch').

例文

  • 「から」は理由(りゆう)や原因(げんいん)を表(あらわ)す。また、「スマホの画面(がめん)はガラスからできている。」のように何(なに)かの起源(きげん)やソースも表(あらわ)すことがある。

    'から' indicates reason or cause. Additionally, there are also times when it indicates an origin or source of something like 'Smartphone screens are made from glass.'.

    であり is a formal conjunctive.
