Tentang その結果
その結果 is a conjunction in Japanese that is used to highlight the result of something that has been previously said. The noun 結果 itself means 'result'. This expression translates as 'as a result of (A)', or 'resulting from (A)'.
その結果 will be used at the beginning of a new sentence, before a (B) phrase will highlight the result of (A).
その結果 may be used to highlight either positive, or negative results interchangeably. However, the (B) part of the sentence almost always focuses on a new 'situation' or 'condition' that has been created due to (A).

それで vs その結果
I’m strugging to understand the difference between those 2 grammar points.
This example:
無理をして走った。その結果足がつったWhy would it not be acceptable to say それで、足がつった in this situation?

Sorry for the late response! In this case, それで is acceptable and sounds natural, but has a different nuance than we are looking for with this particular grammar point.
それで is more explanatory and puts more emphasis on the cause rather than the result. It’s also a bit more conversational. You’ll often find this grammar point combined with んだ・んです (the explanatory sentence ending construction).
「無理をして走った。それで、足がつった」 is more like: ‘I overdid it running. That’s why I got a leg cramp’.その結果 is a bit more objective and matter-of-fact. It puts more emphasis on the result than the cause. You’d also find this a bit more in writing as it sounds a more formal or literary.
「無理をして走った。その結果足がつった」 works exactly how we translate it: ‘I overdid it running. As a result, I got a leg cramp’.

Thanks, I already got a response ages ago Hy posting a new post; I wonder if commenting on those threads linked to the grammar point even makes sense
