からしてEven..., Judging from, Based on

に応じて shows flexible adjustment in proportion to conditions, as in 状況に応じて対応する (Respond according to the situation). からして emphasizes the basis for judgment, meaning judging from or even just from, often with emphasis, as in 態度からして気に入っていない (Judging from his attitude, he doesn’t like it).

からして judges from a single strong piece of evidence, often critically, as in 言葉遣いからして失礼だ (Even just from his wording, it’s rude). にしたら centers on a person’s standpoint, neutral or sympathetic, as in 子供にしたら楽しい経験だ (From a child’s perspective, it’s a fun experience).

Both indicate judgment, but differ in form. からして follows nouns, as in 顔つきからして疲れている (Judging from his face, he’s tired). ところを見ると follows verbs, focusing on directly observed actions, as in 帰るところを見ると用事が終わった (Seeing him leave, his business must be finished).

Both follow nouns and can mean judging from (A), as in 外見からして／外見からすると綺麗だ (Judging from her appearance, she’s beautiful). However, からすると・からすれば can also express perspective, as in 学生からすると難しい (From a student’s perspective, it’s difficult). からして is stronger and often evaluative, focusing on a single piece of evidence.

While both patterns can be translated into English as 'based on', they have very different meanings. からして means 'based on (A), (B)', and expresses the logical basis for the speaker's judgment or opinion. For example, 匂いからして美味しそう = 'From the smell, it seems tasty.' In contrast, にもとづいて expresses the foundation or basis for another action. For example: 経験に基づいて判断する = 'Make a decision based on experience.'

にしては and からして both use a reference point, but にしては highlights a result that defies expectations, e.g. 子供にしては詳しい ('He knows a lot for a child'), while からして draws a conclusion from one part that suggests the whole, e.g. みんなの感想からして面白そう ('From everyone's impressions, it seems interesting').

ことから and からして both express reasoning, but in different ways. ことから means 'from the fact that (A)' and is used to explain a cause or basis, e.g. 声がふるえていることから緊張していると分かる ('From the fact their voice is trembling, I know they're nervous'). からして highlights a telling detail as evidence, e.g. 見た目からして運動していそう ('Judging from her appearance, it looks like she exercises').

Both can mean from the perspective of, but differ in nuance. から見ると emphasizes observation or evaluation, as in 医者から見ると簡単な病気だ (From a doctor’s point of view, it’s a simple illness). からして presents (A) as the basis of a judgment, often emphatic, as in 態度からして失礼だ (Judging from his attitude, he’s rude).
