  • どうにもA is used to emphasize feelings of dissatisfaction, regret when no matter what one says or does, A is impossible and nothing can be done about it. The phrase is used in two common set expressions: 「どうにもならない」and 「どうにもできない」. どうにもこうにも is sometimes used for more emphasis.
