About やや
やや is an adverb in Japanese that is similar to 僅か in that it means 'a little bit'. However, the key nuance with やや is that the what is being described has the tendency of (A), or is expressing (A) to a sufficient degree that it cannot be denied. It may also be translated as 'marginally', or 'slightly'.
Like many other adverbs of time or amount, やや will often appear at the beginning of sentences.
