    About と思う ⇒ 思う

    Similar to standard Japanese, 関西弁(かんさいべん) regularly omits particles when they are not needed. A common example of this is (おも)う being used instead of と(おも)う, to convey that the speaker 'thinks' something.

    In the case of nouns and な-Adjectives, which would usually require だ before と(おも)う, や will be used instead.

    • あの(ひと)ことから明日(あした)(あめ)()って()()(おも)

      As for him, I think he will go fishing even if it rains tomorrow.

      • あそこ(この)()()一番(いちばん)美味(おい)しい(おも)

        I think the okonomiyaki place over there is the best.

        • 大阪人(おおさかじん)基本的(きほんてき)親切(しんせつ)(おも)

          I think people from Osaka are generally friendly.

          • それエミコ教科書(きょうかしょ)(おも)

            I think that is Emiko's textbook.

            It should be noted, however, that this omission of と is primarily used when people are speaking quickly.
